DIC Corporation’s HAGAMOSphere™ Achieves Recognition at CES Innovation Awards
Japanese tech pioneer DIC Corporation proudly announced that its groundbreaking omnidirectional multicopter, the HAGAMOSphere™, has received the esteemed CES Innovation Award at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, held in January. This accolade highlights the advanced design and engineering excellence that characterizes DIC’s innovative multi-propeller system.
As noted on their official website, the CES Innovation Awards program honors remarkable design and engineering in consumer technology across various categories, recognizing the elite in each area.
The HAGAMOSphere™ is distinguished by a unique configuration of eight independently controlled propellers arranged in a cubic frame, allowing for movement in any direction without the need for tilting. This innovative design makes it particularly suitable for applications that demand high maneuverability and precision, such as intricate indoor inspections. Furthermore, its lightweight spherical protector, crafted from cutting-edge geometric shapes, enhances stability and safety in challenging flight environments. The spherical design also empowers the HAGAMOSphere to roll along the ground, providing greater access to hard-to-reach areas.
Takashi Ikeda, President and CEO of DIC Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to receive this recognition at the CES Innovation Awards 2025. It reinforces our commitment to ongoing innovation.” DIC is a globally recognized chemical manufacturer operating in over 60 countries and regions, leading a project in partnership with Associate Professor Masashi Miwa from the University of Tokushima and Hishida R&D Co., Ltd., which specializes in drone innovation and customization. This collaboration aims to enhance the development and testing of the HAGAMOSphere™, incorporating advanced AI flight simulation support and unique materials.
