Collins Aerospace Unveils Enhancements for Pro Line 21 Avionics on Cessna Citation
February 7, 2025 – Collins Aerospace, part of RTX and based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has announced significant upgrades to its Pro Line 21 integrated avionics systems utilized in the Cessna Citation series of business jets, manufactured by Textron Aviation in Wichita, Kansas.
Set to begin in the latter half of 2025, the enhancements will benefit in-service models including the Cessna Citation CJ1+, CJ2+, CJ3, CJ4, and XLS+. These significant updates will feature improved communications capabilities, upgraded weather data, enhanced connectivity within the flight deck, and more.
“These upgrades stem from direct feedback from our customers, who expressed the need for a more intuitive, communicative, and efficient flight experience in their cockpits,” stated Nathan Voight, Vice President and General Manager of Business and Regional Avionics at Collins Aerospace. “Our Pro Line 21 enhancements deliver a modernized flight deck that keeps pilots seamlessly connected and informed.”
The upgraded Pro Line 21 avionics suite will include:
- Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC)
- ADS-B In weather data integration
- Improved connectivity for increased productivity and streamlined data transfers
- Privacy ICAO address to enhance identity protection and security
- Direct integration with electronic flight bags for streamlined operational processes
- Wireless database uploads ensuring avionics systems are consistently compliant and updated
These advancements will significantly elevate the operational efficiency, situational awareness, and overall user experience in Cessna Citation aircraft.
