FlyFreely Launches in North America with LAANC Approval
FlyFreely, a prominent drone management platform, has proudly announced its recent acceptance as a Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) provider by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
With this approval, FlyFreely is now equipped to grant authorizations that facilitate the integration of drone operations within designated controlled airspace. The platform has successfully connected to three significant national Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) systems: CASA RPAS Platform in Australia, Airshare in New Zealand, and now LAANC in the USA.
Significant Growth Milestone
Dr. David Cole, co-founder and CEO of FlyFreely, emphasized the importance of this milestone, stating, “Our rapid growth since 2019 has established us as the most trusted drone management platform in Australia. Following a successful expansion into New Zealand in 2022, moving into the US was a logical next step, and we are excited about this opportunity.”
This expansion into the US market will enable FlyFreely’s clients, especially large multinational corporations, to streamline their drone operations across borders. Dr. Cole explained, “This is a game-changer for customers with operations in Australia, New Zealand, and the US, ensuring they can operate seamlessly through a single platform.” To further enhance its service to North American customers, FlyFreely has added support for drone operations in Canada and Mexico.
Meeting Unique Challenges for Drone Operators
For US drone operators, FlyFreely offers a rich background in managing complex operations in Australia and New Zealand, making it an ideal solution for those needing to operate under Part 107 Waivers. Dr. Cole noted, “Waiver holders encounter unique challenges, including personal responsibility for operations under their waiver and a heightened requirement for compliance and record-keeping.”
The FlyFreely platform incorporates various tools designed to ensure that Remote Pilots or UAS operating under a waiver meet all compliance conditions without complicating standard Part 107 operations. “Our unique authority and workflow system allows for the simultaneous management of multiple waivers,” he added.
Additionally, FlyFreely has innovative capabilities that enable organizations to share waivers. This feature is particularly beneficial for short-term uses of a waiver, such as while awaiting approval or gaining operational experience before acquiring a personal waiver. With a foundation in drone operations, FlyFreely has developed its platform to support commercial UAS operations, compliance, and fleet management effectively.
Comprehensive Tools for Enhanced Operations
One notable feature of the platform is its mobile app, which supports offline mission planning and execution and can be installed on Smart Controllers for automatic flight log retrieval. Moreover, FlyFreely enables cloud-based synchronization of flight logs for DJI, Skydio, and DroneDeploy.
As FlyFreely continues to grow, it is positioned to become a pivotal player in streamlining drone management across North America, paving the way for enhanced efficiency and compliance in the drone industry.
