Leidos and SeeTrue Join Forces to Advance AI-Enhanced Airport Security Screening
On February 27, 2025, a noteworthy partnership was announced between Leidos, based in Reston, Virginia, and Israeli AI software company SeeTrue. This collaboration aims to improve airport security and customs screening processes through the integration of innovative AI-driven threat detection algorithms.
Michael Van Gelder, Leidos’ senior vice president of Security Enterprise Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “SeeTrue is an industry leader in threat detection algorithms, and we are excited to join forces with them. Through this smart collaboration, we are further demonstrating our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that provide advanced levels of threat detection for our customers.”
By merging Leidos’ Trusted Mission AI framework with SeeTrue’s advanced technology, the partnership foresees rapid development of algorithms that can accurately identify restricted items, including currency and narcotics. These enhancements will be deployed via Leidos’ ClearScan CT scanner, which employs computed tomography technology, improving passenger convenience by permitting liquids and electronics to stay in carry-on luggage.
SeeTrue’s AI solutions are engineered for seamless integration with existing X-ray and CT scanning technologies, automating threat detection and streamlining workflows. The technology was notably demonstrated at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas in October 2024, showcasing its practical application and effectiveness in real-world scenarios.
