DJI Introduces Dock 3: Transforming Drone Operations with Vehicle Mounting
On February 27, 2025, DJI, a leader in drone technology, unveiled the DJI Dock 3, an innovative solution designed for public safety, emergency response, and infrastructure inspections. This new addition to the Matrice 4 Series enables 24/7 operational capabilities and features vehicle mounting capabilities.
The DJI Dock 3 seamlessly pairs with the DJI Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD drones, both of which are optimized for improved performance in various environments. Learn more about the Matrice 4 Series.
According to Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI, “DJI Dock 3 maintains our commitment to providing reliable aerial solutions that can easily adapt to operators’ diverse needs.” This cutting-edge dock allows for effective operations in extreme temperatures ranging from 50°C to -30°C and boasts a robust IP56 rating for dust and water resistance.
DJI Dock 3 offers essential flexibility in critical operations. It supports horizontal and cloud-based dock calibrations. For advanced users, it is possible to configure dual docks on a single vehicle for simultaneous drone deployment. A specialized D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version can be integrated for enhanced anti-interference capabilities during video transmission.
The Matrice 4D and 4TD drones feature several advanced specifications, including a 54-minute forward flight time and a hovering duration of 47 minutes. Equipped with various cameras and a Laser Range Finder, they offer a Night Scene mode capable of delivering full-color night vision.
Furthermore, the Matrice 4TD is outfitted with a thermal imaging camera and an infrared auxiliary light, optimizing it for public safety operations. It includes the same tele and medium tele cameras as the Matrice 4D, with a slightly modified wide camera option.
The DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise remote controller enables these drones to operate independently or in relay mode to extend range, critical for missions where reach and reliability in communication are paramount.
