Archer Aviation Partners with Palantir to Enhance AI in Next-Gen Aviation
March 14, 2025 – Santa Clara, California – Archer Aviation Inc., based in San Jose, and Palantir Technologies Inc. from Denver, have established a partnership aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into advanced aviation technologies. This collaboration is particularly focused on improving Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturing processes.
The joint efforts will leverage Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP), enhancing Archer’s manufacturing capabilities located in both Georgia and Silicon Valley. The goal is to create AI-enhanced software solutions designed to optimize critical aviation systems including air traffic control, movement coordination, and route planning, specifically targeting improvements in efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Archer is progressing with its ‘Midnight’ model, a cutting-edge eVTOL aircraft that caters to urban air mobility, boasting a range of up to 100 miles and optimized for swift flights averaging 20 miles. This aircraft is intended for electric air taxi applications, aiming to alleviate congestion in urban environments. Moreover, Archer is collaborating with the U.S. Air Force under the AFWERX Agility Prime program to investigate potential military applications of its eVTOL technology.
Alex Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir, remarked, “This partnership with Archer is reshaping the aviation landscape, making flight more efficient and accessible. By merging Palantir’s advanced AI capabilities with Archer’s pioneering methods in manufacturing and operations, we are paving the way for significant advancements in efficiency, safety, and sustainability.”
Archer’s CEO, Adam Goldstein, emphasized that AI and innovative software technologies are pivotal for aviation’s evolution, stating, “Despite the historical safety record of the aviation sector, much of the supporting technology has only seen incremental updates. AI represents a watershed moment that will define aviation’s future.”
