Diamond Aircraft Integrates Volocopter for Enhanced Future in Germany
Diamond Aircraft Industries, located in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, has successfully integrated Volocopter, with the main headquarters remaining in Bruchsal, Germany. This strategic move aims to bolster Diamond Aircraft’s capabilities as a leading general aircraft manufacturer, backed by over 40 years of international experience.
As a part of Wanfeng Aircraft Division, a subsidiary of Wanfeng Auto Holding Group Co., Ltd., this reorganization expands Diamond’s portfolio into the electric urban air transportation sector. It will allow Volocopter to streamline costs, maintain a dedicated and skilled workforce, and concentrate on achieving critical certification milestones by 2025. The VoloCity, alongside its next-generation variants and other models, is set to advance positively, contributing to the sustainable growth of the aviation industry.
Bin Chen, Chairman of Diamond Aircraft Group, emphasizes the innovative spirit driving future aviation, stating, “The future of aviation is shaped by visionaries. Diamond’s broad portfolio is further strengthened by Volocopter, the VoloCity, and future models. Together, we are creating the foundation to further develop sustainable air mobility and strengthen Europe as an innovation hub in aviation.”
Tobias Wahl, the insolvency administrator and partner at Anchor Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, noted, “Volocopter’s expertise and highly motivated team have consistently set benchmarks in the eVTOL industry.
