Vietnam Airlines Partners with Sabre for Enhanced Optimization Technology

On March 17, 2025, Vietnam Airlines made a significant advancement in their operational capabilities by selecting Sabre Corporation’s network planning and optimization technology. Located in Southlake, Texas, Sabre leverages machine learning, predictive analytics, and advanced optimization algorithms to enhance an airline’s decision-making processes.

Nguyen Quang Trung, the director of corporate planning and development at Vietnam Airlines, emphasized the importance of utilizing sophisticated technology for data-driven decisions as the airline expands its global operations. He stated, “Having the right technology to guide smart, data-driven decisions is essential. Sabre’s tools will help us pinpoint profitable routes, create optimized schedules, and stay agile in a dynamic environment.”

To optimize its operations, Vietnam Airlines will implement a variety of Sabre models, including:

  • Profit Manager: This feature will synthesize cost, demand, and competitive data to accurately forecast profitability and inform network planning.
  • Network Manager: It aims to improve hub connectivity, optimize codeshare partnerships, and refine the airline’s long-term strategic network.
  • Schedule Manager: By assessing operational constraints, passenger demand, and competitive landscapes, this tool will produce revenue-focused flight schedules.

Rakesh Narayanan, Sabre’s regional vice president for Asia Pacific, noted, “This agreement underscores the strength of Sabre’s technology in resolving intricate airline planning challenges. We are eager to assist Vietnam Airlines in achieving its growth objectives.” Additionally, Vietnam Airlines extends its fare options through Sabre’s global travel marketplace, which broadens its visibility to travel agencies and booking platforms around the world.
