Saelig Introduces Hands-Free Oscilloscope Probes for Precise Circuit Testing

Innovative Series of Hands-Free Oscilloscope Probes by Saelig

March 21, 2025 – Electronics distributor Saelig Co. Inc., based in Fairport, N.Y., has unveiled the SQG-series passive high-frequency hands-free oscilloscope probes from Sensepeek AB, designed for both AC and DC GHz test and measurement applications.

These advanced probes can operate at frequencies reaching up to 6 GHz when paired with Sensepeek’s baseplates or used handheld, eliminating the need for soldering connections to the test printed circuit board.

The SQG-series features low probe-tip capacitance, which significantly reduces loading and signal distortion, making them ideal for sensitive circuit applications. Their flat frequency response across a broad frequency range ensures economical and accurate measurement of high-rate data signals. Users can choose between AC and DC coupling options depending on their specific requirements.

Probes in the Series

The SQG-series consists of six versatile models:

  • 1.5 GHz: SQG15-AC / SQG15-DC
  • 3 GHz: SQG30-AC / SQG30-DC
  • 6 GHz: SQG60-AC / SQG60-DC

These probes are compatible with any measurement instrument featuring a 50-ohm input, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, receivers, and power meters.

Additionally, the SQG-series offers interchangeable fine-pitch spring-tipped test needles, ensuring secure contact with small or delicate components. Each model provides dual ground options: a dual needle ground with a 2.3-millimeter tip pitch for RF connectors mounted on PCBs and a solid single ground with a 6.5-millimeter tip pitch for distant ground points.
