Sentera 6X Thermal Sensors Now Featured in the Thermal by FLIR Program
Sentera Sensors & Drones is excited to announce that its 6X Thermal and 6X Thermal Pro sensors have officially been incorporated into the Thermal by FLIR program. This addition solidifies Sentera’s position as a leading provider of high-precision thermal mapping and analysis solutions tailored for unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
The integration of FLIR’s cutting-edge radiometric thermal imaging technology with Sentera’s advanced multispectral-assisted processing allows the 6X Thermal Series to offer an enhanced, high-fidelity thermal imaging workflow. This system addresses the complexities associated with conventional thermal sensors, ensuring that users can obtain reliable enterprise data more swiftly and economically.
“Precision thermal mapping has long posed challenges due to alignment and stitching issues,” stated Eric Taipale, CTO of Sentera. “Combining FLIR’s established thermal technology with Sentera’s automated multispectral-assisted processing makes it easier for users to capture, process, and analyze high-quality thermal data confidently.”
One significant hurdle in using traditional thermal sensors is the difficulty in stitching images, necessitating extensive overlap during mapping missions. In contrast, the Sentera 6X Thermal Series resolves these inefficiencies by employing advanced processing technologies that guarantee automatic alignment and co-registration. This results in lowered overlap requirements for producing thermal mosaics, seamless workflows for thermal data processing, and the acquisition of radiometrically accurate thermal data.
The 6X Thermal and 6X Thermal Pro sensors are designed for easy integration across a variety of drone platforms, enhancing deployment convenience and data reliability. Their features include broad compatibility with UAS, rapid image capture, versatile thermal resolution options, adherence to rugged standards, and compliance with regulations.
By merging FLIR’s radiometric thermal imaging capabilities with Sentera’s synchronized and aligned image capture technology, the 6X Thermal Series is set to unlock new avenues for thermal data analysis across diverse sectors. Applications for this technology extend to thermal and multispectral mapping, analysis of water stress and evaporation, inspection of industrial and infrastructure sites, carbon monitoring and conservation validation, as well as wildfire detection.
